CEO of Davido Music Worldwide, DMW has dedicated his AFRIMMA awards to his two friends who died recently, Tagbo and son of APC chieftain, Dapo Abiodun, DJ Olu.
Davido, last week was accused by Caroline Danjuma for being responsible for the death of Tagbo, an accusation that has been dismissed after police investigations revealed the results of Davido’s autopsy. DJ Olu on the other hand was found dead in his vehicle alongside his friend, Chime and recent police results have made it known that the pair died as a result of drugs overdose after bleeding from their nose and mouths.
The “IF” crooner who has earned rave reviews for his song was presented with two awards at the African Music and Magazine Awards, AFRIMMA, taking home the “Song of they Year” and “Artiste of the Year” categories, which he has dedicated to his two friends who gave up the ghost within one week.
Meanwhile, Davido has also cancelled his appearance today at Felabration, an event held to commemorate the legendary Fela Anikulapo Kuti. He made this known on his Snapchat handle while he quoted a bible verse which suggested his pulling out may be linked to the mourning of his friends.
The Babcock University graduate has also been nominated for MTV Africa EMA Awards for the Best African Act category, alongside most notably Wizkid and South Africa’s Nasty C.
