Former Nigerian Vice President, Atiku Abubakar and Osun state governor, Rauf Aregbesola got more than they bargained for on Friday night when they both tweeted at different times about the English Premier League match between Arsenal and Leicester City.
Recall that Arsenal football club opened the 2017/2018 season on a bright note after coming from behind to defeat Leicester 4-3.
Apparently excited with the outcome of the match, Atiku and Aregbesola who are believed to be Arsenal supporters, took to micro blogging site, Twitter to air their opinions.
Atiku tweeted: “Trying to catch my breath. What a game! Glad Arsenal won in the end.
“Lacazette looks like a fine striker. Hopeful he can become a legend like Thierry Henry”, Atiku tweeted.
Aregbesola on the other hand tweeted: “I’m going to really enjoy watching Lacazette.
“Giroud keeps making it difficult for Arsenal fans not to like him.
“Wenger might just have unearthed a gem in Kolasenic”.
Furious by the tweets, Nigerians pounced on the two politicians.
While Atiku was told to focus his energy on Adamawa United football team, Aregbesola on the other hand was asked to pay Osun state civil servants their salary arrears.
