Tom Petty Suffers Cardiac Arrest, Sparks Death Rumours, Los Angeles Police Department(LAPD) Apologises Over False Alarm

American musician, songwriter, guitarist, multi-instrumentalist and record producer Tom Petty has reportedly suffered from a “full cardiac arrest” sparking off death rumours.

Petty, 66 was found laying unconscious in his Malibu home and was rushed to the hospital when he started showing signs of what looked like an insufficient cardiac output forcing doctors to place him on a life support. A chaplain was reported to have been called to Petty’s hospital room with a do-not-resuscitate order given, a situation that leaves the true state of things with Petty skeptical.

The former lead singer of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers had just in late September finished a 40 year-old tour with his group, leaving fans and followers overjoyed at the quality of his quite legendary performances. The American has been performing since the 1970s with classic rock songs “Learning To Fly” and “Free Falling” top of the pile.

The Florida native who moved to Los Angeles in 1974  and loves to sing about love and LA was reportedly placed on life support when it appeared his brain wasn’t functioning again, what may be termed medically as “syncope.”  Petty, who has won several Grammy Awards for his songs in the past was reported to be dead by a rather hasty misinformation by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Petty has also been a big star of group, Traveling Wilburys before now. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame alongside the Heartbreakers in 2002. He also moonlighted as an actor, playing himself in some projects but also appeared on animated show, “King of the Hill” for many seasons, where he copycatted the voice of Elroy “Lucky” Kleinschmidt.

Meanwhile, the LAPD have apologised for the misleading reports they brandished earlier with news outlets, notably CBS, reporting the death of the legendary rock star, with reference made to the LAPD, a news they have since deleted and apologised for.

Petty is a Floridan but a passionate lover of Los Angeles.
