Wayne Rooney Begins 100 Hour Drink Driving Punishment, Banned From Driving For Two Years

Manchester United and the Three Lions all-time top scorer, Wayne Rooney has started his 100-hour punishment in the form of community service for his drink driving offence. Rooney pleaded guilty to a charge of drink-driving at Stockport Magistrates’ Court and was given the cliché punishment of community service.

The former England captain has also been given a 12-month community order and and has been banned from driving for two years, which is effective thereof, after being stopped by police behind the wheel of a Volkswagen Beetle earlier this month.

The 31-year-old was pulled over by police at about 2am on the morning of 1st of September, with his pictures at a Manchester bar surfacing the night before. The police confirmed that a breathalyser test revealed Rooney had 104 milligrams of alcohol for every 100ml of blood in the body – nearly three times the legal limit of 35mg.

Rooney who has been charged by the FA on many occasions for improper conduct has had to battle allegations of cheating and gambling from wife who has issued a veto against further association with former Sunderland defender, Brown, who according to wife has been a bad influence.

Sequel to the punishment and driving ban, Everton manager Ronald Koeman issued a warning to Rooney and threatened with a fine as he was left displeased at the show of shame which the former England captain got dipped into.

Rooney, father of two has been facing a dip in form since scoring on his EPL return for the Toffees who have had one of their worst starts to a Premier League season in a very long time.

As a leader and respected former international, Rooney is expected to show a better attitude and composure when at all times.
