Women In Politics: Group Coordinator Urges Women To Be Agents Of Change, Not Entertainment Dance Groups

The National Coordinator of Democracy Vanguard, Adeola Soetan has called on women in politics to be more active in political issues, rather than being entertainment dance groups in their various political parties.

He made this call during the ‘Women in Politics’ Forum organized by the International Press Centre (IPC), in collaboration with the Action Aid in Ikorodu, Lagos state.

Soetan said, “’As an indispensable vital social group, women in politics should be qualitative change agents, community development advocates who should organise themselves for leadership roles in their political parties, communities, states and nationally”.

Soetan stated that women should challenge the unfulfilled promises made by party candidates and the government, adding that women are usually the most affected in bad and corrupt governance.

“Instead of being a mere entertainment dance group in your political parties, women should extract promises on community development and gender-specific issues from candidates and government as you are most affected when corrupt government and bad governance is unleashed, he said.
